Look at this blog on HuffPo huffingtonpost.com/gobankingrates/10-cheap-generic-brands-t_b_6355718.html from a financial services company. They suggest that generic products are often as good as or even the same thing as their name-brand expensive-due-to-overhead counterparts. I agree with one exception.

I don’t mind buying store-brand cereal at Wegman’s or gas at Wawa but I do prefer buying my new makeup from the same stores I’m shopping in.

My favorite is the house brand at my favorite makeup store, owned by Barry Beck - but I also like H & M’s new products hollywoodreporter.com/news/h-m-beauty-launch-795137 and Birchbox has come out with some very pretty new colors gcimagazine.com/marketstrends/segments/cosmetics/Birchbox-Launches-First-In-house-Brand-339016322.html.

I haven’t yet ventured to try and buy any of the Beauty Bar cosmetics line.
